S.J.S Congregation has been called upon to work with leprosy patients. Sisters visit their dwelling places to administer treatment to them directly.
The Congregation works towards rehabilitation of leprosy affected people into the mainstream of the society. We look after their economic rehabilitation as well.
Many schemes like handloom weaving, shoe making etc have been initiated by S.J.S Congregation to provide gainful employment to the leprosy affected.
S.J.S sisters provide for the education of children of leprosy affected, providing them formal as well as vocational and professional training.
S.J.S Congregation takes care of lepers and their children on womb-to-tomb basis, that is, it provides food rations, household consumables, children education etc.
