Mother Baptista was a keen observer of needs of her surroundings and beyond. She perceived the acute shortage of potable water in Indore.
Leveraging her contacts in Netherlands and through some other benefactors, a borewell drilling machine was bought from Netherlands to Indore in 1966.
This borewell machine was utilized by the local Indore administration to drill thousands of borewell.
Although the original drilling rig was dismantled and sold off after its useful life was over, SJS Congregation undertakes drilling of borewell for social needs even today.
