Women and Child Development

Teach a child and you have educated one. Teach a woman and you have educated a family

Mother Baptista approached women and child development with lots of vigour and commitment. She was sensitive towards the needs of women and children. She loved widows.

Following her footsteps, the S.J.S Congregation pursues women and child development as part of its charism.

S.J.S sisters practise integrated women and children development initiatives. The Congregation has been called upon to provide services like supplementary nutrition, referral health check-ups, pre-school and formal education of children,  training for employment and income generation, awareness generation and gender sensitization.
